Shiitake
You may know Shiitake (Lentinula edodes) from Asian cuisine, where it has been grown and cooked for centuries.

Apart from its taste, it is interesting for its polysaccharide content – its beta-glucan lentinan was among the first mushroom beta-glucans to be described in detail in the scientific literature. In this category you will find MycoMedica Shiitake as an extract, powder, dried mushroom and in honey, so you can choose the form depending on whether you want to cook it, drink it or take it in capsules.
Extracts in capsules
Shiitake PRO is an organic fruiting-body extract with at least 35 % beta-glucans, 500 mg in each of 90 plant capsules. The classic Shiitake extract has 500 mg per capsule with a guaranteed min. 30 % polysaccharides, without additives or preservatives. Both versions are suitable for vegans. For capsules, the manufacturer recommends 1–3 capsules a day on an empty stomach, ideally with 5 days of use and 2 days off.
For cooking and every day
Soak dried Shiitake (100 g) in hot water, let it swell and add it to soups, sauces or stir-fries – the soaking water makes an excellent stock. Organic Shiitake powder (100 g) is ground fruiting body that you stir into water, a smoothie or porridge; typically 1–3 g a day.
Shiitake in honey
MedoComplex combines 95 % Czech blossom honey with four mushroom extracts – Reishi, Cordyceps, Agaricus and Shiitake – and acerola. One spoonful a day is enough, on its own or in lukewarm tea. More honeys are in the mushroom honeys category.
