Organic Sea Berry, better known here as sea buckthorn, is one of the oldest plants used by humans for healing. 

Records of its effects date back to ancient Greece, from which its Latin name, Hippophae, also originates. Translated, it means “shining horse.” According to an ancient Greek legend, sea buckthorn was the food of the mythical Pegasus. It gave the winged horse immortality and the strength to fly. Sea buckthorn berries are strengthening agents for general weakness, during convalescence, in cases of reduced resistance, and under various forms of stress. Its active compounds are exceptionally valuable because of their medicinal effects. Of the wide range of bioactive substances, these are primarily vitamins, but also coumarins, bioflavonoids, alkaloids, oils, tannins, and minerals.

Tibetan sea buckthorn is one of the most significant natural sources of vitamin C. It also contains B vitamins, particularly B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin), B6 (pyridoxine), and vitamin B9 (folic acid). Valuable components include bioflavonoids (quercetin, kaempferol, isoquercetin, betaine, and rutin), coumarins, and serotonin. Its phytoncide content is also very important; these are chemically diverse substances that destroy microorganisms. Sea buckthorn also contains 15 types of minerals, the most important being iron, potassium, manganese, sulfur, boron, copper, nickel, and calcium. However, hippophaein is a truly exceptional substance. Laboratories in Russia succeeded in isolating an alkaloid from sea buckthorn bark, which was crystallized as a hydrochloride. This chemical component was subsequently described as serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine), and because it was isolated from sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides L.), it was named hippophaein or hippophane. It has significant pharmacological properties, including a positive effect on the central nervous system; it is effective as an antidepressant and also has a significant antitumor effect because it limits the pathological growth of tissues.
