Positive effects on kidney inflammation, gallstones, and kidney stones; support during colds and flu, and metabolism support
The health benefits of herbs can be used very effectively in the form of teas and decoctions. In most cases, the active compounds are water-soluble and are released from the plant material into the water solution after a shorter or longer boiling time. This method of using herbs is traditional and highly effective. The medicinal compounds pass into the body much more easily, and if the tea is sipped in small doses throughout the day, the effect is more intense than when the same dose is taken all at once. Water is a very powerful information medium, and during boiling, herbal bioinformation passes into it along with the active compounds.

Effects and active compounds
Chanca Piedra has diuretic, antispasmodic, and anti-inflammatory effects. It relaxes smooth muscle, particularly in the urinary and biliary tracts, supporting the natural expulsion of stones and regeneration. It helps with digestive tract disorders, diarrhea, constipation, or bloating, and strengthens liver function. It lowers blood pressure. The aerial parts contain mainly quinolizidine alkaloids, flavonoids (rutin), and tannins.
Preparation method
For 1 liter of boiling water, add 1–2 tablespoons, simmer over low heat for 5 minutes, and strain. Divide 1 liter of the decoction into 3 daily doses and drink for at least 1 month.
Plant part
dried crushed aerial parts of the Phyllanthus niruri plant
The indigenous peoples of the Amazon call this inconspicuous little plant the “stone breaker.” For generations, they have used it for all kinds of urological problems. Chanca Piedra grows naturally not only in Central America, but also in India and the countries of Southeast Asia. There, it became an important medicinal plant in traditional Ayurvedic medicine. It attracted particular attention in 1988, when a finding was published in a renowned medical journal showing that taking Chanca Piedra significantly reduces the activity of the virus that causes hepatitis B. It therefore reduces the risk of permanent damage to liver tissue.
