Uncaria Tomentosa - herbal tea - 55 g

Positive effects on the cardiovascular system, high blood pressure, menstrual disorders, and inflammatory diseases

The health benefits of herbs can be used very effectively in the form of teas and decoctions. In most cases, the active compounds are soluble in water and are released from the plant material into the aqueous solution after a shorter or longer boiling time. This method of using herbs is traditional and highly effective. The medicinal compounds pass into the body much more easily, and if the tea is sipped in small doses throughout the day, the effect is more intense than when the same dose is taken all at once. Water is a very powerful information medium, and during boiling, herbal bioinformation passes into it along with the active compounds.

Effects and active compounds

Uncaria tomentosa has immunostimulatory, regenerative, antiallergic, and powerful antioxidant effects. It is reported to increase the body's defenses by up to 60%. The plant contains alkaloids, including isopteropodine, which has immunostimulatory effects, and rhynchophylline; phytosterols, primarily ß-sitosterol, a significant antioxidant; the flavonoid epicatechin, which also has powerful antioxidant effects; and, last but not least, proanthocyanidins, which improve the elasticity of blood capillaries. The plant also has antimutagenic effects by inducing apoptosis—the programmed cell death of damaged cells.

Preparation method

Add 1 tablespoon to 1 liter of boiling water, boil for 25 minutes, then steep for 15 minutes and strain. Divide 1 liter of the decoction into three daily doses.

Plant part

dried crushed bark of the Uncaria tomentosa plant

Uncaria grows in the lowland tropical rainforests of Central and South America, particularly in Peru. Indigenous tribes have used this vine for a wide range of health problems for at least 2,000 years. However, uncaria only became known in the Western world in the 1970s through the work of Christian missionaries. Reports of miraculous cures and evidence of the plant's extraordinary properties sparked the interest of pharmaceutical companies around the world. Today, the effects of uncaria have been demonstrated in laboratory and clinical studies; it is a powerful
medicinal plant.
